Summary of Job: This position is an entry level position into the lift maintenance department at Afton Alps it will require an attentive safety driven and diligent individual who enjoys working outdoors in the winter season. A mechanical background is preferred but not required. Must be comfortable with heights of up to 25 feet, 3 years or more experience on a snowmobile is required.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and reliable mechanical operation of all lifts.
  • Responsible for following the company's safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for performance and scheduling of all preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting all "down" lifts.
  • Responsible for assuring the Maintenance Manager, Lead, and Lift Dispatch is immediately informed and consulted about all abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents, observations, or system malfunctions.
  • Respond, as assigned, to lift failures to productively resolve these situations in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the ongoing training of lift maintenance personnel.
  • Responsible for maintaining all tools, equipment, and vehicles as assigned.
  • Able to evacuate a lift under auxilary power in all circumstances.
  • Responsible for recording all information of work performed on lifts and submitting to lift records in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Mechanical experience - Required
  • Snowmobile experience - Required
  • Valid  Driver's License
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in English
  • Ability to withstand extreme cold and variable winter conditions
  • Intermediate level skier helpful
  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions and work in small groups
  • Team player
  • Create and maintain a productive and safe work environment, including implementing and retaining all company mandated safety-related training and assessments.
  • Develop, adhere to, and role model the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations of Vail Resorts and Afton Alps.
  • Flexible schedule required during peak times throughout the year.  Must be willing to work evenings, holidays and weekends
