My client provides specialized surface treatments, chemical finishing and non-destructive testing to the aerospace and defense industry. 

This is a Zinc/Nickel trainee position in our Copper/Passivate Department.  Employees in this position use a variety of media to clean a variety of complex surface parts.  Hours for this position are training Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. After training is complete- Monday through Friday 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Responsibilities
•Read and understand all supplied paperwork,General cleaning, descaling and passivate of stainless steel parts
•Cleaning and Anodizing of Magnesium Alloys,Sandblasting and glassbeading
•Ability to learn and follow directions,Inspect all paperwork and ensure that all previous operations have been done,Determine whether the parts for to passivate, copper plating, copper stripping, phosphate, or anodize areas.
•Degreases or sandblasts parts when necessary.
•Process parts per work order, purchase order, and customer specifications.
•Utilize the time that the parts are in the tanks by; Prepping the next job: 

Sandblasting
Wiring / Unwiring parts
Unpacking parts and degreasing them if necessary
Replenishing supplies



Essential Physical Demands:

Standing for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment.  Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Use of safety equipment when necessary (goggles, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, etc.). Often exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.  Hearing protection is required.

Skills:

Candidates must have the ability to read, write and communicate in English.  Specifically, applicants must be able to read and understand written purchase orders and paperwork. Ability to perform processes with little or no supervision.  Knowledge of specifications, tools and equipment used in the copper/passivate area. The ability to read and interpret specifications, work orders, purchase orders, and blue prints.  Must be able to take direction from others and have the ability to work in a team environment.  Candidates must be detail oriented and have the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Required Experience:  

Candidates must be able to demonstrate longevity in previous work experiences.  Applicants with previous experience in a metal finishing, manufacturing or aerospace production environment are preferred.
