Catering Sales Assistant

Freebirds is hiring a Catering Sales Assistant. Hours may include some evenings and weekend coverage.

The Catering Sales Assistant is responsible for all incoming catering orders, making sure event order correctly reflects actual order, as well as meeting guest expectations and financial targets. The Catering Sales Assistant will work directly with Catering Sales Team to build relationships with local businesses and organizations.

Main Accountabilities

• Builds and maintains steady base of contacts with local businesses; encouraging them to engage catering services for their social and business events.
• Understand guests’ needs and drive sales through upselling.
• Estimate the cost and amounts of ingredients in order to draft an invoice.
• Promptly sending invoice/quotes to guest, confirming order with guest, and forwarding to the correct restaurant.
• Maintain guest satisfaction by forwarding complaints about food quality to appropriate management.
• Manage catering ordering calls, website leads, and email orders. Distribute to appropriate Catering Sales Manager and restaurant.
• Recaps booked catering sales and sends daily summary to restaurant locations and Catering Sales Managers.

Job Requirements
Qualifications & Education

* Associate's degree preferred.
* Some college coursework and commensurate experience acceptable.
* 1+ years of customer service experience.

Knowledge & Skills

* Basic Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Outgoing and engaging personality.
* Comfortable working in an office environment.
* Strong organizational and exceptional customer service skills - Servants Heart.
* Willingness to reach out to prospective guests.
* Ability to take an accurate order and communicate in a timely manner to the appropriate restaurant via phone or email.
* Good at multi-tasking and able to reprioritize responsibilities as priorities change throughout the day.
* Flexibility and willingness to assist with tasks as needed.
