The Production Technicians perform the day to day operations that meet the requirements of production scheduling, quality, the Training / Certification program and additional work assignments as directed by the Production Manager.
Job Duties:
Production
Satisfactorily complete Training / Certification program.
Daily operation of process areas.
Packages and places on pallet 25 Kg paper bags (up to 100 - 200 per day).
Monitors the process / equipment and reports any abnormalities / problems observed.
Performs in the field analysis where required
Monitors raw material inventories / production supplies.
Submits work order requests.
Assists maintenance and performs minor maintenance when required.
Maintains an awareness of yield performance.
Operates within SOP guidelines.
Enters computer data.
Completes all necessary batch sheets and forms.
Be mindful of the cost implications of all actions.
Cooperate with others on special projects.
Shutdown and startup of utilities on weekend that plant is down..
EHS
Management of hazardous waste.
Comply with the various policies and procedures, e.g.:
Special Work Permits,
Confined Space Permits,
Weekly Inspection Sheets,
P.P.E.
Maintain alertness to any potential safety hazards and act to prevent them.
Maintain an acceptable level of housekeeping.
Contribute to development of and encourage safe work practices
Job Specifications:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
Interested in and capable of promoting group/team environments where people can still take the initiative to work independently if appropriate.
Basic computer skills are desirable.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English and able to communicate in a professional manner
Candidate must have excellent attendance record and exhibit willingness to learn
