Service Technician - Mt. Brighton - FT and PT - Seasonal - Brighton, MI - Full-time / Part-time

The Service Technician will elevate the resort experience by ensuring that all guests receive the highest quality of service when it comes to equipment maintenance and repair.  Responsibilities include the use of equipment, machinery and tools to repair and maintain both guest and rental equipment. Through this role, the Service Technician will have the opportunity to serve as an integral member of the team by working directly with our guest to ensure that they have a quality experience at our resort.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Service and repair customer equipment consistent with training, manufacturers requirements and established guidelines
• Responsible for performing quality tunes and repairs to customers’ equipment
• Write up accurate work orders and prioritize work in an expedient manner
• Assist with store operations and generating sales
• Establish a professional, yet personalized rapport in person or on the phone; listen to the customer to understand their needs
• Acknowledge the customers quickly and courteously using both eye contact and clear speech; explain requested service or an alternate option sufficient to complete the sale
• Complete accurate work order documents and prioritize the work consistent with their needs
• Answer all questions with detailed information, providing pricing and delivery dates
• Adhere to all safety procedures and shop guidelines regarding the use of tools and equipment
• Completing other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• A strong understanding of skiing and/or snowboarding – Required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays – Required
• A strong commitment to exceptional guest service – Required
• Ability to communicate fluently with guest/customers and co-workers in an accurate spoken and written English – Required
• 1 year ski & snowboard service technician or rental experience – Preferred
• Ski and/or snowboard hand tuning  and waxing experience – Preferred
• Experience in adjusting and repairing snowboard bindings – Preferred
• Manufactures ski binding certification for Salomon and Marker – Preferred
• Basic computer skills with the ability to learn how to use the register – Preferred

• Be able to lift 30 lbs including carrying objects up and down steps – Required
• Able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate or better level – Preferred
