About this job


Assemble a wide variety of products with or without dedicated machines or hand tools.

Key Responsibilities:


Put foam together inside of mattresses


Assemble a wide variety of products where work is highly repetitive.


Have a functional knowledge of pneumatic hand tools and other basic hand tools.


Ensure appropriate packaging according to process sheets.


Ensure all labels are in good condition and in proper location according to drawings and process sheets.


Visually inspect work for quality requirements to meet quality assurance standards.


Operator may make minor adjustments under supervision or within limits of standard procedures.


Prepare and complete paperwork as required.


Report all machine malfunctions or equipment breakdowns.


Complete special projects and assignments as required.


Cut and glue foam assemblies to customer specifications.


Prepare product(s) for shipment; select appropriate shipping container; pack items to ensure safe delivery; follow all shipping and dock procedures.


Receive and unload incoming materials, comparing information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.

Requirements

- Ability to read a tape measurer.
- Ability to use pallet jack/dolly.
- Maintain regular attendance.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement, and safety standards.
  • Lift heavy objects; requires bending, squatting, reaching, etc.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.

    Past Experience and Education:
  • One to two years of high school or equivalent preferred, plus demonstrated proficiency in the use of hand tools.
  • Additional assembly experience a plus.
  • Three to six month experience required to become familiar with nature of work, machine attachments, settings, and adjustments, and to acquire the dexterity necessary to attain performance requirements.
