Mechanic

Staffmark has immediate openings for a Mechanic. This is a Direct Hire opportunity and we have multiple openings. Mechanical experience is preferred as well as experience with diesel, hydraulics, ASE Certified and dialysis.

Loads and unloads trucks by hand or with booms, winches, skids, and dollies.

Delivers materials, parts, tools, and equipment at the work site or the shop facility and furnish these items to mechanics and employees when required.

Drives a truck with an attached trailer and trailer/chipper.

Transports materials and equipment.

Organize equipment by repairs to equipment and ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner.

Complete repair orders and other documentation daily.

Assist other mechanics in the shop with details and the prioritizing of jobs.

Communicate regarding equipment to other mechanics and supervisor.

Perform any other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Supply own tools, if needed payroll deduction is an option.
Knowledge, Skills &Abilities

Demonstrate knowledge on occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Demonstrate knowledge of the care and proper use for the tools and equipment used in the development and maintenance of trees.

Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the public.

Must be skilled in mechanics.

Must be able to perform emergency rescue procedures.

Must have a valid CPR/First Aid Certificate.

Demonstrated knowledge and required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Education/Experience

Mechanical experience preferred.

Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's license-Class B or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Experience with Welding/Fabricating desired but not needed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must be able to report to work on time and to perform the duties of the job for an entire workday.

Must be able to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.

Must be able to perform frequent overtime work, which may involve early mornings or late night hours.

Must have sufficient physical strength and ability to independently and repeatedly lift, move and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds and to repeatedly lift, move and carry objects weighing more than 100 pounds with assistance.

Must have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to operate equipment.

This classification may require the use of personal or company vehicle on company business.
