The Seafood Clerk is responsible for recieving and cutting seafood merchandise, as well as filling display cases. Seafood clerks should be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills since working the customer counter is a primary responsibility. Another key responsibility is ensuring that the display cases look appealing to customers and that the seafood product is of the highest quality.

SEAFOOD CLERKS DUTIES

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Greeting customers and assisting with any questions they may have.
2. Creating display cases that showcase high-quality products in an appealing manner.
3. Counting and recording merchandise for inventory purposes.
4. Updating weekly prices and labeling merchandise, including changing the price markers on displays.
5. Rotating product and discarding any out of date items.
6. Following and encouraging other team members to follow, all health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
7. Loading and unlaoding pallets and trucks with incoming items to be stocked in the Seafood Department.
8. Keeping the department clean and safe for both coworkers and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must due to high level of interaction with customers.
2. Basic math and reading skills.
3. Able to address customer concerns in a calm, professional manner and follow through to an adequate resolution.
4. In addition to other physical abilities listed in a full job description, applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis during a shift, bend/squat all the way to the floor, stand and walk for long periods of time, and tolerate changes in temperature.** Previous experience preferred but not required**
