Job Summary:

The primary function of this position is to provide support to the Telecom Department for Colorado voice services. This individual will work closely with the network technicians as well as the IT Manager maintaining the OSP Infrastructure. This position is required to track and complete requests for telephony equipment, cabling and infrastructure needs, relocations and any other move/add/change requests. Strong team working effort in project management and implementation is required to ensure proper communication and coordination with all IT and corporate departments. This position will be responsible for managing multiple projects, including contract resources.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Outside Plant, OSP cable infrastructure
  • Required to track requests for telephony equipment, cabling and infrastructure needs, relocations and any other MAC requests
  • Project management to insure the project and day-to-day work schedules are being met
  • Strong team working effort in project management and implementation is required to ensure proper communication and coordination with all departments
  • Backup support to telecom technicians
  • Maintains multiple vendor/contractor relationships, procures pricing and technical specifications for equipment and projects on a continuing basis
  • Fulfills departmental requirements in providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, FTO, or training
  • Successful candidate will participate in maintaining a GIS database, documenting infrastructure and circuit assignments
  • On-call support
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of telephony color codes and electronic test equipment, fiber optic testing/splicing and copper cable experience required
  • Working knowledge of underground cable locating equipment required
  • Proven track record using analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience with PBX and VOIP a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to perform all aspects of support and maintenance for the enterprise OSP inventory is required
  • After hours support and maintenance, on-call duties and on-mountain work assignments are required
  • Project Management experience with ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to perform physical outdoor labor in all seasons
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to pass MVR
