Summary:

The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining roadmaps related to the global data center Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) architecture and recommending architecture to meet business requirements. This role will also manage and support the engineering efforts for both the customer facing and corporate cloud data center and infrastructure technologies. The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer may be expected to mentor, train, and lead fellow team members and peers through design and implementation decisions to achieve balance between design and tactical needs. This is an exempt position and reports to the Sr Director Infrastructure.

Essential Functions:
  • Designs and implements architectural roadmaps related to the global data center IaaS
  • Develops and implements internal systems, processes, and best practices to be used by other teams designed to increase productivity
  • Designs and maintains customer facing and corporate global data center technologies related to IaaS
  • Designs, implements, and maintains server, storage, network, and security infrastructure
  • Designs, implements, and tests disaster recovery and business continuity architecture
  • Creates and implements automation for cloud platforms, including monitoring and alerting functionality
  • Ensures all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards
  • Troubleshoots production issues and responds to after-hours escalations
  • Verifies and resolves configuration and other non-software related issues
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment :
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of infrastructure experience
  • Requires expertise in storage design for high availability and disaster recovery
  • Requires expertise in Windows operating systems
  • Requires expertise in network architecture, including load-balancing, DNS, BGP, IPSec VPNs, and active-active/multi-homed data centers
  • Requires expertise in security best practices and use of firewalls, IPS/IDS, encryption, and incident response
  • Requires expertise in virtualization technology such as VMware
  • Requires hands-on experience with a cloud provider, such as Azure and AWS
  • Requires experience creating automated processes using well-known languages such as PowerShell
  • Requires experience working with information systems in a 24/7, “real-time” environment
  • Requires demonstrated attention to detail, organization skills, customer service skills and ability to multi-task
  • Requires exceptional problem solving skills and ability to remain professional under high pressure situations
  • Experience with the interworking of Web applications and relational databases preferred
  • Hands-on experience with virtual private data centers, such as Rackspace preferred
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office, MS Project and MS Visio preferred
