Overview

The Dietitian Diabetic Educator has primary responsibility utilizing knowledge of anatomy, physiology and utilizing knowledge of family dynamics and interpersonal communication, provides individual consultations for diabetes patients in the outpatient settings. The dietitian diabetic educator assesses, plans implements and evaluates care in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. The Dietitian provides patient education and manages related fiscal responsibilities. He/she provides education and disseminates research and clinical findings on diabetes and related topics to the professional staff. This position provides care for patients ranging from toddler to geriatrics. The dietitian educator will perform all duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MMHC.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Education: Must be a Baccalaureate Science Degree in Dietetics Licensure: ADA Registered, licensed by State of Oklahoma Experience: Minimum one year experience in direct patient care. Minimum one year experience in patient education related to diabetes education preferred. Certifications: Other: Interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required. Demonstrates technical competence by completion of skills checklist.
