Vail Mountain is looking to add international workers to their staff! In order to be eligible for positions at our mountain, you must:

  • Be able to obtain a J1 visa - required
  • Already be talking with a J1 Agency/Sponsor - preferred
  • Be able to work until March 31st, 2018 - preferred
  • Be open and willing to accept a location assignment (in on of our hotels in Vail) based on business need

 

If you are able to meet the criteria above, here are a list of positions that you can be considered for:

 

Housekeeper

  • $12.00/hr – Full Time – morning, day, and night shifts

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items (during stayovers, room attendants must change the linens every 3 days). Make beds and fold terry.
  •  Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, closets and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways.
  • Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings including using a duster to reach vents and ceiling corners to remove dust and cobwebs.
  • Maintains a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Washes shower walls and tub, cleans toilet, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls in order to have clean and sanitary guest restrooms.
  • Must be able to clean 15 credits during a shift (1 hotel room=1 credit).
  • Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities.
  • Washes all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.  
  • Maintains all cleaning solutions in accordance to OSHA requirements for hazardous chemicals..
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma. -preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience in hotels or condos. -strongly preferred
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. -preferred
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. -required
  • Able to stand for long periods of time in excess of 2 hours without sitting. –required

 

Turndown Attendant

  • $12.00/hr – Full Time – morning, day, and night shifts

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering. Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms. Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items.
  • Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms. Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items. Make beds and fold terry. Tidy bathrooms. Adjust lighting as necessary. Remove trash, dirty linen, and room service items. Vacuum carpets if necessary.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Assist with day shift activities at the beginning of the shift, including cleaning rooms and public spaces.
  • After turndowns are complete, clean spa, fitness center, movement studio, and locker rooms.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisors and managers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma. -preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience in hotels or condos. -required
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. -preferred
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. -required
  • Able to stand for long periods of time in excess of 2 hours without sitting. -required

 

Houseperson

  • $12.00/hr – Full Time – morning, day, and night shifts

Job Duties include:

  • Walk assigned floors at beginning and end of shift; remove newspapers and service trays, empty ash urns, remove trash and/or linens and note any areas that need immediate cleaning.
  • Clean public areas - hallways, elevators, service areas, stairwells, etc.
  • Remove dirty linen, terry and trash from the service areas and take to the appropriate locations.
  • Assist sectional housekeepers as needed (i.e. moving furniture, rollaways, etc.)
  • Report missing or damaged articles, and submit all found items according to Lost and Found procedures.
  • Respond to guest requests and questions and report guest issues and complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Report the need for floor cleaning/polishing and carpet shampoo; coordinate and use equipment to conduct cleaning procedures.
  • Report any maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Transport baby cribs and rollaway beds to the guest rooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma. -preferred

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. -preferred
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. -required
  • Able to stand for long periods of time in excess of 2 hours without sitting. –required

 

Steward

  • $11.00/hr – Full Time – morning, day, and night shifts

Responsible for the cleaning of all kitchens to include; kitchen equipment, vents,  floors, drains, walls and bathrooms.  Washes, and properly racks all china, glass, silver, pots and culinary utensils. Assists Chefs in receiving items and properly storing them.  Ensures that all kitchen areas are kept clean, neat and well stocked.  Keeps hallways free of obstructions, floors clean/dry and responsible for frequent trash removal.   Provides all banquet/catered functions with the necessary equipment based on the BEOs for each function.  Assists with resort recycling efforts by ensuring all items are properly sorted in a neat and orderly manner.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma. -preferred
  • Prior experience in a fast paced restaurant setting. -preferred 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English. -required 
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish. -preferred
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. -required 
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. -required
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. -required 

 

Entry Cook

  • $12.00/hr – Full Time – morning, day, and night shifts

Must be willing to work in a fast-paced kitchen. Ability to develop basic culinary knowledge and competent knife skills. Ability to handle own station, work off prep list and complete station setup in time allotted, fabricate items to standard during service, and completes prep list for next day. This position involves prepping food, setting up, taking down and cleaning serving stations and other duties as assigned. Understands the importance of standards, speed, and quality. Practices good personal hygiene, safe food handling and culinary skills within the restaurant. Will attend HACCP training and practice those techniques. This is position requires the ability to work well with others.

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively is a must.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Previous cooking experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50+ lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours.
