Job Purpose: Two to three sentences describing the overall purpose of the job
Serve food, beverages, and/or desserts without excluding performing a variety of food preparation and service duties including taking foodand beverage orders, preparing orders and serving prepared food and beverage items in an efficient manner to customers in such settings astake-out counters of restaurants, hotel rooms, and food carts.
Job Responsibilities: Maximum of ten responsibilities, in order of percentage of time spent on functions from longest to shortest; do not list anything that doesnot represent at least 10% of the job's time. Please include supervisory responsibilities.
1.
Provide flawless food sales and service to guests.
2.
Maintain stock and display food according to established standards.
3.
Brew coffee and tea, and fill containers with requested beverages. Prepare all specialty coffees, cappuccinos, and lattes; seasonal andspecial coffee and chocolate drinks.
4.
Maintain cleanliness in work areas and outlet areas.
5.
Clean equipment, dishes, and silverware as needed.Scrub and polish counters, steam tables, and other equipment and fountain equipment
6.
Operate a cash register and accurately handle monetary transactions. Take customers' orders and input ordered items in POS system, giving afinalize check to the customers for every transaction.
7.
Balance receipts and payments in cash registers. Prepare checks for items sold, using POS system; and accept payment and make change.Handle a daily cash bank and follow cash handling procedures.
8.
Wrap menu item such as sandwiches, hot entrees, and desserts for serving or for takeout. Serve salads, sandwiches, pastries, coffee, tea,beverages and cocktails; and fill and re-fill beverage cups and glasses.
9.
Prepare food such as sandwiches, salads, and ice cream dishes, using standard formulas or following directions.
10.
Demonstrates product knowledge and execution.
11.
Perform opening and closing duties as required.
12.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications: Describe the minimum qualifications needed to complete the job responsibilities.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
Minimum six months of cash handling and food service experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Food Handlers Card and Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC) card may be required.
