Supervisor:             Store Manager (MGR), Assistant Manager (AM)

Job Summary:        The customer service representative is responsible for maintaining customer service, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all company policy and store standards.

Primary Functions:

  1. Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding service and image standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
  2. Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements.
  3. Performs shift duties relating to cleanliness, stocking, maintenance and compliance with image standards. Assist in floor moves and resets, merchandising, and display maintenance.
  4. Operates point of sale (cash register and all related methods of payment) at a retail petroleum/convenience outlet. Maintains proper cash and electronic payment accountabilities at POS registers.
  5. Contributes to sales, profit, and image goals of the outlet.
  6. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices.
  7. Provides timely feedback to the company and/or management regarding service failures or customer concerns.

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Assures proper, safe and timely handling of cash, credit cards, store charges, coupons, and food stamps while operating the point of sale (cash register).
  2. Assures proper handling and documentation of all sales and procedures.
  3. Assures proper maintenance, cleanliness, stocking to meet image standards.
  4. Assures accuracy and timely completion of his/her shift reports.
  5. Check in Direct Store Delivery vendors following approved procedures.
  6. Communicate problems and issues to Store Manager or Assistant Manager.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a retail petroleum/convenience outlet. This role routinely requires the operation standard retail petroleum/convenience outlet equipment including point of sale equipment, coffee makers, fountain beverage machine, gas pumps, slushy machines, etc. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position can be full time or part time depending on operational needs and employee availability. Shifts vary depending on store hours of operation, which include but may not be limited to: open, first, mid, second, close, and third shifts.

Position Requirements:

  1. Some high school education preferred.
  2. Work experience in retail preferred.
