Position Title:
External Description: Merit Health serves the healthcare needs of the Jackson/Vicksburg region through six hospitals and more than 30 affiliate clinic locations, including Merit Health Central, Merit Health Madison, Merit Health Rankin, Merit Health River Oaks, Merit Health River Region, and Merit Health Woman’s Hospital. The health system employs more than 3,300 people, has 1,200 licensed beds, and 1,800 physicians on active medical staff.
Provides evaluation of assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Provides assistance to nursing peers as requested. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the nursing field.
Graduate of a nursing program. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Current Mississippi RN licensure is required. BLS certification is required. ACLS certification is strongly preferred.
Prior MedSurg care experience is preferred.
