Job Summary:
- If you are an outgoing and high-energy Food Service Host/Hostess who is seeking an exciting and dynamic employment opportunity, join our Six Flags team and enjoy a summer of thrills!
- Comply with all The Great Escape policies and procedures
- Assist guests with food and beverage selections
- Serve, plate and distribute food to guests
- Receive goods selected by the customer and operate cash registers
- Cleans assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing
- Talk with other cashiers where there is doubt about a particular price
- Receive the guest's payment for goods and provide change when necessary
- Check food to make sure of its quality and correct temperature as stated by NYS Department of Health
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Prepare food for cooking
- Cook food by a range of methods (i.e. baking, frying, roasting or steaming)
- Divide food into portions and make sure that the food is well presented
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
- Rotate stock by bringing the old stock forward on the shelves
- Process credit card payments
- Sign funds in and out of Cash Control
- Empties and cleans trash containers
- Disposes of waste into appropriate areas
- Performs varied tasks necessary for the upkeep of restaurants and grounds
- Must be at least 14 years old for Line Server/Cashier
- Must be at least 16 years old for Cook
- Must be at least 18 years old for High Volume Cashier
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
- For safety purposes, the individual must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to actively communicate with large groups of Guests
- Be available to work flexible hours during the day and on weekends within the limits of applicable Federal, State and facility labor laws and guidelines
- Must be able to properly understand American Currency. Must also be able to properly handle a Canadian Exchange transaction
- Be able to correctly handle transactions involving Travelers Checks. Must know which signature has to be already signed, a photo id (passport, drivers license or other government issued id) must be read, signature for goods upon transaction and treat it like regular cash
- All other duties assigned or necessary to support the park as a whole.
