Production Equipment Technician

Our customer in Solon, Ohio, is a leading supplier of coil bobbins, knobs and precision engineered plastic components to the global electrical and electronics industries. They are looking for a Production Equipment Technician to join their team.

1st shift

$18-20.00/hour,  depends upon experience

Basic Job Function:

Perform duties within the production department where the primary function is to set-up and provide process support for all production equipment. These responsibilities include but not limited to, Molding Machines, Terminal Assembly Machines and Knob Equipment.

Required Skills:

• Mechanical aptitude
• Basic math skills
• Good attendance
• Good vision
• Ability to use hand tools (standard wrenches, screw drivers, etc.)

Work performed:

• Prepare terminal assembly machines for production
• Remove and clean machine components and dies
• Install new components and dies
• Evaluate new tooling for production compatibility
• Ensure that machine operators understand production requirements and operation
• Obtain the molded parts and wire stock required for secondary operations
• Update the parts and wire inventory in the computer database
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Accurately complete all appropriate documents
• Perform up to 3 set-ups per shift
• Perform other related tasks as assigned

Employee relations:

• Works independently with very minimal supervision
• Must establish a working rapport with other employees in the Production department
• Must be able to interact with the Scheduling Department, QC Department, Shipping, Engineering, and Maintenance department

Equipment:

• Routine care and operation of equipment such as molding machines, dies, molds, gauges, die temp controllers and hand tools

Experience: Two (2) years related experience and training

Education: High School diploma
