Automation Personnel Services is seeking a 2nd shift Supervisor for a Steel Company in Rome, GA.

Directs the work of shipping, bending, beveling, machining, straightening and welding operators by assigning/re-assigning work stations and analyzing production methods to increase efficiency and assure accomplishment of established goals for quantity and quality.

Schedules and adjusts schedules to assure optimum utilization of employees' skills and equipment and to assure timely response to priority orders.

Provides technical assistance, troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves problems associated with machinery and tooling.

Monitors setups, interprets work orders and approves machine programs.

Evaluates and orders tooling, fixtures and specialty items.

Maintains controls of compliance with specifications and quality standards of manufactured parts.

Trains and cross-trains operators in the technical skills of job assignments including: machine operations, setup, quality and departmental procedures.

Provides costs data and cost estimates for use in preparation of departmental budgets.

Devises and implements improved production methods, reductions of setup times and efficiencies in handling of raw stock and work in progress.

Schedules general machining maintenance and orders departmental tools and equipment.

Drives forklift and operates overhead crane as needed to position and transport materials.

Conducts safety meetings and trains operators in safe handling of materials and safe operation of machines, tools and equipment. Enforces rules covering use of protective gear and housekeeping in work areas.

Responsible for control of materials used in the department including: measurement of consumption, losses and scrap.

Coordinates with personnel from all departments in determining needs for parts. Adjusts manufacturing schedules to assure timely response to requirements and priorities.

Investigates accidents and reports on findings. Makes recommendations for preventative measures.

Lays out jobs to be done on various machines in cooperation with manufacturing engineer.

Administers plant rules and disciplinary policies.

Compiles data and prepares departmental recaps and reports on production, quality and related information.

Performs annual performance reviews of subordinates and recommends wage increases; formulates and monitors performance improvement plans.

Participates in selection of employees who have bid for jobs in the department.

Maintains good housekeeping standards in assigned area.

Performs all duties following established safety procedures and guidelines using assigned safety equipment.
