Lead Preschool Teacher A Lead Teacher will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally a Lead Teacher is responsible to work together with an Assistant Teacher and will report to the Principal and a member of the Board of Education (BOE) of the Madina Academy (MA). Job Description* Lead, coach and mentor less experienced teachers in your classroom; model behaviors and provide feedback* Implement Pre K curriculum in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child* Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn* Partner and communicate with parents, with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children * Support MA Pre K School success; partner with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, and engagement* Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts and corporate partners* Market MA Pre K in the local market to increase enrollment* Conduct Open houses* Assist Principal and BOE to Hire qualified staff* Manage day to day activities of the Pre K School and support day to day education operations and reporting of program outcomes, performance, and improvement recommendations* Encourage families to become an integral part of their children's learning experiences* Maintain a portfolio for each child* Respect cultural and ethnic diversity* Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectivelyRequired Skills and Experience: * Bachelor's or higher degree in Early Childhood Education* Child Development Associate (CDA) certification * Certificate in first aid and CPR* 2-3 Years Early Childhood Education Experience* Experience using the Connecticut Preschool Frameworks, lesson planning, and observing and assessing children* Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods* Excellent communication and instructional skills* Prior supervisory experience * Computer literacy in the use of Windows-based programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred* Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with childrenFOREIGN DEGREES* All foreign degrees MUST be converted to U.S. credits* All foreign courses and/or credit hours must be converted to U.S. standardsJob Type: Full-time
