Base Area Operations / Grounds Maintenance - Breckenridge Ski Resort - Full-time / Part-time

A member of Grounds is responsible for the beautification of all outdoor areas at the Breckenridge Ski Resort while providing and maintaining a clean and safe environment for winter operations.  Functions as the snow removal team for the resort.  Desire to operate light equipment and perform manual labor is required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Consistently provide a professional experience when handling an internal or external guest requests
• Assist the Grounds Department Manager in achieving department goals
• Clear/ remove snow and ice from sidewalks
  • Operate various snow removal equipment – snow blowers, skid steers, UTVs
  • Use hand tools like shovels or pickers 
  • Spread salt and sand during icy conditions
• Monitor, maintain and transport all base area Recycling & Trash
  • Assist with recycling program by sorting when needed
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Overall cleanliness and appearance of all base areas, including removing litter and ski rack placement
• Assist in the upkeep and preventive maintenance of resort property, i.e. signs, benches, ski/bike racks, trash/recycling receptacles
• Ability to work as an individual and as a member of a team
• Ability to follow written and oral instruction, work without supervision, and recognize and maintain time schedules & deadlines.
• Able to meet requirements for Company’s vehicle usage with respect to all laws, Company policies and procedures
• Previous experience or ability to learn light equipment operation within 30 days of hire – i.e. skid steers, UTVs, all-terrain forklifts

Job Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age - required
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience - required
• Valid and clean driver's license record - required
• Ability to comprehend English - required
• Ability to work outside in extreme mountain conditions – required
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical labor – required
• Ability to operate a manual transmission – preferred
• Working knowledge of and experience in operating light equipment – preferred
• Working knowledge of and ability to properly use hand and power tools - preferred
