The Big Springs Lodge offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options from grilled-to-order burgers and melts to fresh Entrées, Salads made to order, Pizza, Mexican, a Thai Food Truck and more!  This location also has multiple full bars and food is served both indoor and outdoor at this mid-mountain location with a perfect atmosphere for snow enthusiasts and summer thrill seekers.

Responsible for basic food preparation tasks, such as cutting up meat and fish, cleaning, peeling, slicing, chopping, measuring and mixing ingredients, etc.  Will use basic cooking skills to work on a line or on a cooking station, such as the broiler, fryer, oven, grill, pizza or salad and be responsible for set up of assigned station. Along with the rest of the team will be responsible for loading and unloading food product to building and food stations.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepares food for guest and employees by following cooking procedures.  Places and displays foods in serving containers.
  • Follows all Health Department required food handling procedures.  Keeps a clean, well maintained, sanitary work environment.
  • Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Fills customer requests by arranging chosen food items, adding prescribed garnishes, and handing meals to customers.
  • Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturers’ instructions and established procedures.
  • Maintain food line by notifying supervisor of shortages and replenishing food at workstation.
  • Provides information to customers by answering food preparation questions and fulfilling special requests.
  • Protects customers and employees by adhering to all sanitation policies and procedures; maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
  • Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
  • Assist in Unloading product from delivery vehicles such as trucks and snow machines.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and outside weather conditions. 
  • Flexible working hours.

 

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
  • Valid CA Food Handlers Card is required.
  • Be able to lift 11-25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time at work station.
