Web Press Operators / Second Press Operators
Job Description
Quad/Graphics, a global leader in the commercial printing and direct marketing industry is seeking Web Press Operators / Second Press Operators to work in our West Allis, WI facility.
These positions include the opportunity to learn the printing process from the ground up and advance in a progressive environment. In this position you will assist in the creation of various well known Magazines/Catalogs and other related products in either our Press department. Quad/Graphics prides itself on having a “grow from within” philosophy where employees are provided the opportunity to learn in their roles and grow within the company.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist the lead on our web press.
Assist with other make-ready tasks: install plates, web paper, run the press.
Pull samples off press to ensure high quality during printing and after adjustments have been made.
Use experienced judgment to prevent downtime and minimize overconsumption.
Assist with review of job ticket specifications to meet Customer and productivity commitments.
Comply with all quality, safety rules and regulations as well as Standard Operating Procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
This position requires prior experience operating UV cured, 6 or 10 Color offset web presses, a strong attendance record and have the mechanical ability to effectively perform equipment operations and maintenance
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand long hours and use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement.
Able to bend and lift 10-15 pounds continuously, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 pounds, standing long periods of time of up to 12 hours, perform repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere and use vision in order to identify defects with or without reasonable accommodation.
Able to work overtime as needed based on the workload.
Basic computer skills are required.
Good verbal and written comprehension, the ability to thrive in a team environment, and work independently.
Prior web printing experience preferred.
