SUMMARY OF JOB:

Responsible for receiving all shipments and transfers from distributions centers and other stores.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receive, document and organize all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Control the flow of products between back-stock area and the store
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weights, or measurements of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills, invoices, orders or other records
  • Determine method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Insert items into containers, affix shipping labels to shipments
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with vendors to rectify damages and/or shortages
  • May operate lift truck or hand truck to move or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
  • Maintain filing system for all incoming/outgoing shipments for stores and Distribution Centers
  • Track and follow up with overdue and expected shipments
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and shipping area

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
• No prior work experience required, experience in a retail environment or equivalent relevant experience preferred
• Basic computer skills with ability to learn
• English fluency
