Job Purpose

Responsibilities include assignment planning, layout, set-up, operating and making tool adjustments for a variety of conventional machines. Works from blueprints and sketches to perform production tasks which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.  Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances.  May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.  Follows CRYODYNAMICS Q.S.M. (Quality System Manual) where applicable.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain a positive atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner, so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

    You are expected to act in a safe manner at all times and insure that those around you do not put themselves or others at risk. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. At ALL times working safely is a condition of employment.

2. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.

3. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.

4. Other duties as assigned.          

5. Qualifications

1.    Requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of machine shop experience.

2.    Ability to add and subtract decimals and fractions on drawings and measuring instruments such as caliper and scale, a working knowledge of shop math.

3.   On the job training or trade knowledge equivalent to training received in a formal apprenticeship program.

Working Conditions

This job will be out on the shop floor machining area. Other conditions may include but are not limited to weekend work/extended shift hours to meet the needs of the customer and the production schedule.

Physical Requirements

1.  Visual accuracy.

2.  Able to lift minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis.

3. Ability to work in a demanding environment

4.   Manual dexterity

5.  Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

6.  Complete repetitive tasks with few breaks.
