Providence is calling a Clinical Nurse Specialist Advanced (FTE 1.0, Day) to Nursing Professional Support at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK. New graduates are welcome to apply. Sign on bonus and relocation assistance available.

This posting is not a specific job vacancy. This posting serves to establish interested candidates for current or future opportunities for Clinical Nurse Specialist Advanced positions at various locations and various shifts at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

In this position you will:

* Support, supervise, and evaluate staff new to a clinical setting during their first 90 to 180 days on the unit.

* Act within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres.

* Facilitate a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in the provision of health care, within a specialty area.

* Be responsible for the promotion of excellence in the provision of nursing care through the implementation of clinical standards of practice and establishing competency standards for staff members.

* Demonstrate a firm knowledge base and clinical expertise, function as a clinical resource, conduct and facilitate patient care consultation, and provide resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes.

* Support clinical rounds with the multi-disciplinary health care team and work closely and collaboratively with the physicians in establishing collegial relationships that benefit our staff, patients, and community.

Required qualifications for this position include:

* Master's, post-master's, or doctorate from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

* Current RN license in state of Alaska

* Current certification as CNS - CNS certification is preferred in area of specialty

* Current certification in area of specialty (i.e., CEN, CCRN)

* Three (3) years registered nursing experience in area of specialty

* Current core course completions in BLS, ACLS, PALS or NRP (all that apply to specialty)

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

* Two (2) years of clinical leadership responsibility
