A successful Content Operations Specialist will have the following skills:

  • A self-starter that can work a full shift with minimal or no supervision
  • General understanding of TV content, specifically high priority assets
  • Ability to learn and master internally created tools used to onboard, maintain, and curate content
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Creative thinking and problem solving
  • Experience using OTT platforms to bring a customer perspective
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator

The Content Operations Specialist is responsible for helping the team maintain Sling’s VOD library by processing content, verifying assets, and maintaining presentation within the app.  Due to this, the candidate must be a self-starter and self-reliant.

 

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

 

  • Map proper metadata records to all new assets and MDUs (metadata updates)
  • Develop an understanding of our high-priority assets to properly prioritize work
  • Work with automated testing tools and UAT teams to ensure all assets are available and playable
  • Tracking and reporting of new daily encodes received and completed
  • Maintain goal of keeping mapping backlog at a minimum
  • Work with third party metadata vendors to ensure that mapped records are available and accurate
  • Verify all content that Sling is entitled to is received to maintain content parity with competitors
  • Issue tracking, reporting, and resolution in coordination with Dish Technologies’ Content Operations Team
  • Maintain visual appearance of all assets by tracking missing or incorrect metadata and correct missing or incorrect asset images (linear and VOD)
  • Creatively think of solutions to keep a cohesive and appealing presentation of VOD in the Sling UI
