Elevator Operator - Event Operations - Madison Square Garden

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Elevator Operator is to:

• Greet and welcome guests to Madison Square Garden while maintaining the integrity of all levels serviced by the assigned elevator

• Assists high profile guests and patrons with special needs when entering and exiting the elevator

• Informatively answers guests’ questions concerning Madison Square Garden amenities and operation

• Monitors radio communication for and rapidly responds to any emergencies

• Ensures only staff or guests with proper credentials gain access to restricted levels

Qualifications:

• Articulate with excellent hospitality, interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work professionally as a team player in a fast paced, service environment

• Will have the ability to solve problems, have conflict resolution skills, and handle customer situations in a highly sensitive, heightened and urgent environment

• Prior Arena/Theatre and elevator operating experience preferred

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

• This position is part time and is scheduled based on events.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain all refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilating equipment, and all boilers and heating systems.

• Including all controls associated therewith, all pumps (including ejector pumps, sump pumps and fire pumps), fans, compressors.

• Fire prevention equipment including hand operated portable fire extinguishers, and related equipment.

• Including the taking and recording of water, steam, or gas meter readings, the taking of temperatures, the repairing of equipment, referred to above, the standing of watch, and such other associated activities as may be required, for the proper servicing

Qualifications:

• Previous Engineering experience.

• Experience with operating and maintaining HVAC systems

• Make all plumbing repairs in facility from stoppages during events and PM  kitchen

• Plumbing systems

• Maintain all refrigeration systems, consisting of kitchen and commissary walk in

• freezers  and ice machines

• General working knowledge of electrical , trouble shooting , lighting and fixture installation

• Experience with Building Maintenance System  (BMS)

Education:

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
