Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester is searching for an Radiologic Technologist/Phlebotomist to join Powell Family Health in Powell County . This is a PRN, as needed position performing various imaging procedures and phlebotomy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This position will report to the Director of Radiology and Cardiopulmonary Services.

Essential functions for this position include, but are not limited to:

* Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation

* Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary

* Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results

* Reviews providers orders, quick registers patients as necessary and places orders for imaging and/or laboratory tests as ordered by provider

* Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures, finger sticks, or heel sticks as required per established laboratory policy. Obtains urine, throat and nasal samples as ordered by provider. Obtain specimen for legal purposes according to established policy

* Resolves unusual test orders by contacting the ordering provider for clarification

* Prepares specimens for testing and distributes to the appropriate laboratory department for testing

* Assists in keeping supplies at adequate levels by completing weekly phlebotomy and imaging inventory

* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Education:

* Graduate of a Program in Discipline, required

* Bachelor's Degree, preferred

Licensure/Certification:

* Kentucky State Radiation Operators License

* ARRT

* Basic Life Support (BLS)
