Title: Server - part time
Supervisor: Dining Room Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Essential Job Functions:
• Check floors, chairs and tables for cleanliness and proper set-up before service
• Make sure service stations are organized, properly set and well stocked
• Complete side work before service starts
• Warmly receive members and guests; assist in seating when appropriate
• Pre-meal with chef for specials, limited items, or unavailable items; explain same to members and their guests.
• Take food, cocktail and wine orders in the prescribed manner on form provided; organize food orders when waiting on several tables at once while speaking clearly and professionally
• Answer any questions the members or guests may ask about the menu, event and company
• Pick up the correct orders in a timely manner, being certain that all necessary condiments, sauces, silver, glassware, etc. are together and ready with the order
• Enter orders in Jonas POS with any details the members and guests may request
• Put order in kitchen, or give to bartender, explaining special instructions, dietary needs and any allergies immediately to kitchen
• Serve meal in prescribed manner which ensures the member and guest receives correct meal and it is properly presented. If in doubt, question the quality before it leaves the kitchen. If required, inform the guest of a delay as soon as possible
• Check in with members and guests to ensure satisfaction of each course and beverage(s)
• Clear tables of all unneeded silver, glassware, china, salt and pepper shakers, etc.; crumb tables after every meal course
• Present and describe the nightly desserts and recommend after dinner drinks
• Total all checks with all food items, drinks and any miscellaneous items explained and presented
• Thank members and guests after meals and wish them well as they leave clubhouse
• Break down and set up the dining room for the next dinner service or event according to directions from managers
• Organize and review all checks according to correct accounting procedures, i.e. proper sequential order, correct point of sale, exact/correct number of covers and end of shift report
• Present checks to manager for final review with any and all corrections
• Bring any comment, good or bad, to supervisor’s attention; allow managers to deal with negative comments
• Perform closing side work and other duties as assigned by managers
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager and complete safety training and certifications
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets
• Team building by developing and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

Requirements

Job Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
* Hospitality Degree is a plus but not necessary
* Previous experience in fine dining of two or more years
* Experience with full formal banquets and golf tournaments
* knowledge of wine, spirits and beer
* Experience using POS systems such as Jonas, Micros, Hulu, etc.
* Food Handlers Certifications is preferred but not necessary

Essential physical requirements:
* This position includes (long periods of) balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling and repetitive motions.
* Walk on slippery conditions, up and down stairs as well as services ramps
* Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
* Must be able to move furniture
* Must be able to work in hot conditions for long periods of time.
* Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above.
* Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
* Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
