Summary: The Letter Fabricator is responsible for assembling and shaping sign frames and cabinets.  This involves stretching flex material, assembly work, electrical wiring for lighted signs and operation of variety of hand and power tools while following safety and quality guidelines.  The letter fabricator will be able to handle multiple job tasks and with excellent problem solving skills while utilizing solid mechanical aptitude.   

​ Duties
Wire the electrical lighting for a variety of different sign cabinets
Operate shears, brake, radial arm saw, iron worker, torch and plasma torch, jib cranes, and other miscellaneous hand tools
Stretch flex material on to sign frames or awning frames
Miscellaneous duties such as: grinding, sanding, gluing, hole punching, sheeting, torching, clipping flex faces, and priming steel frames Any other work assigned by the Production Supervisor

  • Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
  • Maintains clean, organized work areas and securely stores equipment and supplies
  • Completes job-specific duties as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience operating a forklift
  • Experience using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Electrical background required
  • Ability to read blueprints required
  • Familiar with the operation of sheet metal shears, brake, jib cranes, power hand tools (jig saw, circular saws, drills, etc.)
