Job Summary: The candidate will be responsible for packing or crating and loading finished custom orders for shipping. They will use a variety of tools, saws, air nail guns, forklifts and cranes. It is the Pack, Load, Crate department’s responsibility to ensure all signs are shipped with the proper materials to reduce the risk of damage. 

​ Duties:

  • Miscellaneous duties such as: cutting wood shapes, making crates, banding product to skids, shrink wrapping signs, cleaning signs, label signs according to procedure, packaging and loading a variety of sign types
  • Quality control of all items shipping or installing
  • Assemble signs, plastic into rigid sign cabinets, pop riveting on face trim onto the cabinet and paint touch up.
  • Check patterns to make sure all power/mounting holes and letter size is right
  • Verify and send all mounting hardware to mount signs to walls or beams
  • Make sure all colors of touch up paint are sent with the sign for Jones Sign Installers
  • Take photos per photo procedure
  • Fill out department QC sheet
  • Make a detail packing list with all items that are being shipped
  • Make sure all jobs have install instructions and receiving procedures
  • Inspect the trailers that the signs are being shipped on, such as lights, tires, etc.
  • Any other work assigned by the PLC Supervisor

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience operating a forklift
  • Custom work background required
  • Familiar with the operation of sheet metal shears, brake, jib cranes, power hand tools (jig saw, circular saws, drills, etc.)
