The upscale and popular North Face retail outlet in the Vail Village is located adjacent to the outdoor ice rink at Solaris and right next door to the Yeti's Grind coffee shop.  The location generates a steady flow of enthusiastic and sophisticated retail customers, especially throughout December, January, February and March of each winter season.

 

The store's primary winter season Cashier/Sales Associate will work as many as 4 to 6 shifts per week which will translate to 20 to 40 hours per week on a consistent basis for the 4+ month period.  A "back up" Associate, if needed at all, may work fewer shifts and fewer hours to round out the staffing schedule.

  

The winter season employee for The North Face Vail/Solaris will perform these duties:

  1. Greets guests as they enter the store; orients guests to how the store is organized;
  2. Assists guests with product evaluation and selection - outerwear, sportswear, footwear, accessories, etc.;
  3. Rings up cash and credit card sales using the VRR Point of Sale ("POS") system;
  4. Handles guest product returns and/or product exchanges;
  5. Helps with product receiving and "put away" - store transfers, direct shipments from TNF and shipments from VRR warehouses;
  6. Works with the rest of the team to keep all of the backstock merchandise organized and labeled;
  7. Roams the sales floor to fold, tuck and straighten up the merchandise and merchandise displays - the higher the guest traffic, the more frequently this is required;
  8. Performs additional administrative duties under the supervision of the Store Manager and the two (2) Assistant Store Managers.

 

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  1. Must meet VRR's standards with respect to personal grooming and attire appropriate for a busy retail envirnoment involving one of the top brands in the sporting goods industry;
  2. Outstanding interpersonal skills and verbal communications skills;
  3. Prior retail experience would be helpful, but not absolutely required;
  4. Prior Point of Sale ("POS") and cash register experience helpful, but not absolutely required;
  5. Willingness to conform to the store's staffing schedule which is always published in writing for the upcoming 2-week period.
