This position is for the Nursery/NICU and will split time being staff and supervisor. The position requires at least two years of Level II NICU experience.

Position Summary

Responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department's daily operations. Consistently promotes a positive work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers. Collaboratively works with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting hospital initiatives and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed. Will assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The Assistant Nurse Manager's (ANM) Clinical Coordinator's annual performance review is dependent upon departmental goals and outcomes achieved along with the key performance indicators of the team the ANM directly supervises. Key performance indicators will include but are not limited to:

* Patient Satisfaction improvement/stabilization.

* Productivity- meeting unit based financial targets.

* Core measures- improve and maintain a >90% bundle score.

* Narcotic oversight- zero tolerance for breaches.

* Medication Safety- zero tolerance for breaches.

* Red Rules- zero tolerance for breaches.

* Patient Hourly Rounding- consistently performed.

* Associate Rounding-every associate, every month.

* Active participation/implementation in facility or unit based councils and committees as assigned by unit leader.

* Physician Nurse rounding-consistently performed in inpatient areas.

Minimum Education Requirements

* BSN, preferred.

* High School diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience Requirements

* 3 years total RN experience.

* 2 years experience in specific department focus, preferred.

License/Certifications.

* Current Colorado RN License.

* BLS certification from American Heart Association.

* Additional Life Support Certifications per Department Standards; e.g. NRP, EFM, TNCC, etc.

* Must achieve and maintain appropriate facility identified national certification within one year of becoming ANM.

* Collaborates and assists leadership of the department with staff meetings and agendas. *

* Recognizes and builds trust with all associates, physicians, families and patients. *

* Completes PFD on assigned staff. *

* Communicates appropriate information at change of shift and throughout shift. *

* Consistently promotes a positive work environment. *

* Builds effective working relationships: Takes an objective look at issues from varied perspectives, is open-minded and open to improvement -- not rigid in thinking. Stimulates and facilitates change in a positive manner. Involves staff in planning processes to attain valuable input and to assure positive outcomes. * Facilitating Change: Demonstrates statistical improvements on unit in areas related to patient, physician and associate satisfaction. Recognizes staff when effective change has occurred. *

* Rounds daily on the unit to interact with staff, families and patients in order to obtain feedback on the functioning of the unit. *

* Works with staff to immediately intervene in order to resolve patient/family issues. *

* Will carry departmental mobile phone/communication device and respond to calls promptly. *

* Supports facility/unit system initiatives to attain and improve physician, patient and associate satisfaction scores. *

* Demonstrates commitment to Centura's Core Values by participating in community events. *

* Serves as patient advocate and provides patient care when required. *

* Ensures compliance, provides coaching and monitors staff to ensure they are adhering to CMS and Joint Commission standards to include nursing sensitive and core measures. *

* Complies with the National Patient Safety Goals. *

* Tracks unit equipment -- missing, broken, replacement needs. *

* Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement holistic, individualized plan of care. *

* Ensures quality checks (COR cart, etc) and participates in quality audits. *

* Identifies any potential patient safety issues. *

* Employs evidence based practice standards to ensure a quality patient care environment. *

* Assists in reviewing Kronos for accuracy. *

* Adjusts staffing to maintain productivity standards. *

* Assists in managing Premium Labor/budget goals. *

* Facilitates Patient Flow on unit. *

* Manages unit supply, stock, linen issues. *

* Consistently validates that work processes and priorities are in alignment with LAH's/Department Strategic Plan. *

* Is innovative with staffing assignments without compromising patient safety. *

* Encourages associates to challenge work processes to improve unit effectiveness. Recognizes staff when effective change has occurred. *

* Collaborates with unit educator to meet the needs of staff in both on-boarding process and ongoing competency and professional development initiatives. *

* Integrates department culture with emphasis on productivity standards and hospital goals into interviewing and hiring process. *

* Supports succession planning within the unit.*

* Demonstrates commitment to Centura's core values by participating in community events. *
