Providence is calling a Toddler Teacher to our Wee Care Child Development Center in Portland, Oregon. We are looking to add to our team! Wee Care complies with all the State of Oregon childcare services Five Star Quality Rating requirements. This is a full-time, benefited position.

In this position, you will:

* Work as a team member to provide a safe and secure environment which provides developmentally appropriate activities for a child's social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.

* Be directly involved in the physical care of children including feeding and changing of diapers/clothing and the maintenance of a clean, orderly and stimulating environment.

* Work with the Lead Teacher to organize and plan a developmentally appropriate environment, activities, schedule and general care of the children.

Required qualifications for this position include:

* Must be 18 years of age

* Current Infant/Child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification

* First Aid certification

* Food Handler's Card

* "Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect" training

* 1 year of direct child care and teaching experience with groups of children six weeks to 5 years, with at least 12 months of experience with children 6 weeks to 12 months (Infants), 12 months to 24 months (Toddlers); and/or 24 through 36 months (Intermediates).

* Willingness and ability to promote expansion of knowledge in child development/early childhood education through workshops/classes

* Must have no convictions related to child abuse, offenses against persons, sexual offenses, child neglect, felony offenses involving controlled substances, or any other offenses bearing substantial relation to the qualifications, functions, of duties of an employee of a child care facility.

* In compliance with the Oregon Office of Child Care, clearance is required for this position with the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR), based on assigned duties.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

* Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or interrelated field

* Minimum of an Oregon Registry Step 9 or above

* Oregon Registry Infant/Toddler Professional Credential

* 2 years of direct child care and teaching experience with groups of children six weeks to 5 years, with at least 12 months experience with children 6 weeks to 12 months (Infants), 12 months to 24 months (Toddlers); and/or 24 through 36 months (Intermediates)
