Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, medication reconciliation and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can be legally performed only by a registered pharmacist. May perform tech-check-tech responsibilities in conformance with regulation and established policy & procedure.

A full-service acute care facility serving the residents of Tracy for over 50 years, Sutter Tracy Community Hospital (STCH) has a total of 82 inpatient beds. STCH provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including: a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient and ambulatory surgical services, endoscopy lab, coronary care, diagnostic imaging, laboratory and rehabilitation services including physical, speech and occupational therapy. STCH also has specialized care for Hemodialysis, Family Birthing Center, Continence Center and a Pain Management Center. STCH affiliated with Sutter Health in 1993.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Current Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the State Board of Pharmacy.

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* Required knowledge of aseptic technique for sterile compounding, knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical generic and brand names.

* Basic computer data entry skills and typing skills speed 25 correct words per minute are preferred.

* Drivers license and automobile insurance required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience with computer database management, spreadsheet, word processing and other computer programs

* Pharmacy Technician status for one year or similar experience using like cognitive skills and qualifications
