The Account Representative III (AR) is responsible for effective accounts receivable management of outstanding patient claims. Duties may include one or more of the following: conducting effective accounts receivable management of outstanding patient claims, conducting routine research and follow-up on unpaid claims, denials and tracers, working with insurance companies to resolve patient billing / carrier issues for expected payments, researching, analyzing and resolving credit balance accounts. The AR is responsible handling these duties in a manner reflecting the Mission, Values, and Customer Service philosophy of Sutter Physician Services.
The ideal candidate for this role is one who enjoys the details, researching and resolving problems, has the ability to change priorities at a moment's notice and is engaged with the Lean thinking methodology. You will be expected to multi-task and produce quality work in a manner that meets the productivity and excellence standards of Sutter Physician Services.
Minimum Requirements:
* High School diploma or equivalent
* 2 years recent related experience with accounts receivable and customer service in a healthcare facility, with at least 1 year experience working with one or more of the following:
* Medical claims billing (RHMO, Commercial, MediCal, Medicare, Workers' Compensation ICD-10, CPT codes)
* Payment reconciliation
* Customer service -- researching and resolving issues
OR
* Completion of 2 year degree, plus one year recent, related experience
Preferred experience/skills:
* More than 2 years of experience working in a medical claims billing environment handling insurance denials/appeals.
* Previous experience with the Epic billing platform.
* 1 plus years working utilizing Lean Methodology
