Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Draftsman for a 11+ months contract opportunity in Las Vegas, NV with our partner, a rate-regulated utility company that provides reliable, affordable and environmentally responsible energy to customers in Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota and Nebraska.

As a Draftsman, you will...

  • Reproduce maps and revise maps as changes occur and maintain up to date land rights and easement documents, distribute maps of Electric and Gas systems.
  • Prepare base maps for job drawings.
  • Engage in the operation and care of printers, plotters, copy machines and miscellaneous minor maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist in occasional reducing of field survey notes and field checking.
  • Make mechanical and architectural drawings.
  • Perform clerical work related to the Drafting Department.

Qualifications

  • Must possess an aptitude for the work, a working knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and mathematics, including geometry.
  • Experience in maintaining land survey, land rights and easement documents is preferred. Capable of interpreting land right documents or easement documents and translating them to an AutoCAD drawing.
  • Interpret and map verbal and written instructions, rough sketches, and data collected by Engineers, Planners, Estimators or Surveyors.
  • Consult standard maps of cities, subdivision plats, railroads and highways in connection with the preparation of new maps for plotting distribution lines and facilities.
