About this job

The Executive Chef will direct and supervise all aspects of day-to-day operations in the kitchen. This individual will excel in his/her teaching and training ability and have the patience and knowledge to lead a culinary operation to achieve excellence in all aspects of the kitchen operation. This individual will be the liaison between the kitchen and the front of house manager from a day-to-day operational standpoint.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Development of all seasonal menus.
  • Manage working relationships with local farmers and suppliers [Farm to Fork]
  • Fully involved in event planning and execution

  • Act with integrity, honesty and maturity
  • Create a positive and team-oriented atmosphere which promotes learning, development and cooperation with other Senior leadership
  • Develop employees from hiring, training, and continued coaching in an effort to maintain a low turnover of employees
  • Maintain high safety and sanitation standards
  • Develop and implement in-house marketing to increase sales
  • Conduct inventory, place orders and process deliveries
  • Ensure all areas of the restaurant are in proper operation
  • Clear and in-depth knowledge of preparing and managing P&L statements
  • Facilitate the interview, new hire and training processes
  • Maintain excellence in food quality by upholding all recipe and product specifications
  • Foster a positive and growth-cultivating work environment
  • Forecast food, beverage and labor costs and maintain each within budget parameters
  • Create schedules

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years as an Executive Chef with a minimum of 8 years of other culinary experience in a kitchen leadership role
  • Must have a strong working knowledge and understanding of functioning restaurant kitchens
  • Ability to write recipes and understand product costing
  • Solid understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
  • Professional communications skills both oral and written
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to properly life up to 50 pounds
  • Basic understanding of P&Ls
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • ServSafe and HACCP knowledge a plus
  • Approximate 55 hour work week
