JTE Youth Program Instructor
Responsible for classroom instruction and training. Plan for and deliver youth education classes, administer examinations, collect and record data as it pertains to student progress.
Provide approximately 12 – 18 hours per week (hours dependent upon location of teaching site) of direct instruction in the Goodwill Youth Programs.
May teach other subjects depending on suitability and site needs.
Use effective teaching practices and follow competency-based curriculum.
Create lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners, including the integration of educational technology.
Provide tutoring support and feedback to students.
Maintain student records and data to track student progress and retention.
Maintain and express enthusiasm and commitment to helping students learn.
Provide job search assistance to students. Resume/cover letter writing.
Support the Site Manager and other staff in outreach and case management.
Present special lectures, seminars, and workshops as requested.
Attend staff meetings.
Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
Work on special projects as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Science or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Experience: Minimum two years teaching/training experience. Minimum two years' experience working with at-risk youth.
Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Required: Bilingual skills a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software as needed. Success in simplifying and communicating complex ideas and tasks. Experience teaching/training students who may not have any formal education. Must be flexible and have the ability to work in an environment with very diverse group of people.
Essential Physical Abilities: Able to safely lift/push/ pull up to 25 lbs., grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms, standing for long periods of time. Able to communicate with others effectively, verbally and in writing; including those who have limited English skills, large and small groups, and individuals.

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Office/classroom environment; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position requires some travel to other locations for offsite meetings and events.
