Job Summary
AECOM is hiring qualified Auto Painters in support of USMC Depot Augmentation - Camp Lejeune, NC.
Will remove paint and paint contract units in accordance with the customers specifications. Will apply various corrosion control methods and technologies.
Coats surfaces of contract units with primer, paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin. or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices. Removes old paint using liquid paint remover and scraper or plastic/sand media blasting techniques. smoothes surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure that paint adheres to surfaces and provides corrosion control methods to customer specifications. Paints insignia, letters, or numbers on vehicle surfaces using stencils.
Paints and redecorates facilities, vehicles, equipment and fixtures. Work involves the following: Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for difference applications; preparing surface for painting by removing old finish or by placing putty or filler in nail holes and interstices; and applying paint with spray gun or brush. May mix colors, oils, white lead and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency. In general, the work of the maintenance painter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Minimum Requirements
+ The successful candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of recent full time verifiable painting experience in a transportation or industrial environment.
+ Experience with overhaul depainting is also required.
+ Must have normal color vision. Must be able to lift 40-45 pounds.
+ Automotive and/or Industrial Painting experience is a requirement for this position.
+ Drug test, background check, and PFT and pass Respirator Fit test is required. Must be able to pass Government Star 4-D Paint Test.
