About this job

Assists in optimum operation of the Region I Medical Command Center by establishing communication linkages and subsequently relaying all appropriate information to patient care participants. Responsible for knowledge of the total operations of the Region I Medical Command Center, including operation of equipment, processing of paperwork, reports, computer function, and quality care reviews. Medically accountable to Medical Command Physician on duty. Participates in training of Regional EMS personnel.

Successful completion of the 12-module WV EMT-Paramedic Program and current certification. Provider certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) and Basic Trauma Life Support (ACEP) preferred.

ACLS and BTLS instructor status is desirable. Minimum of two years of recent paramedic-level field experience. Excellent communications skills required. Must complete a designated training program on the use of specific communication equipment and techniques used by the medical command center. Demonstrated knowledge o two-way telecommunications equipment and technology desired. Past experience in Medical Communications preferred
