Performs all aspects of Ultrasound Technology provided by the department, in accordance with the guidelines and policies established by the Ultrasound Department and in accordance with the American College of Radiology. Provides General Imaging Supervisor information regarding daily operation of the department. Assists in maintaining data for Continuous Quality Improvement reporting. Through General Imaging Supervisor coordinates the staff members for PTO and work schedules. Helps ensure that all regulated Quality Control parameters are completed and data is available for review.

Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with Sutter Health. Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, weight management.

Successful completion of AMA Accredited School of Ultrasound Technology ( which requires prerequisites of being an allied health professional or has a bachelor's degree in a health-related field upon admission to the program). If a new grad, must registry eligible by the ARDMS in OB/GYN and Abdominal Ultrasound, and within one year of graduation obtain ARDMS. If more than one (1) year of experience, must have ARDMS in at least OB/GYN or abdominal on hire. ARDMS in Breast Ultrasound a plus. Other certification may be required if department develops in other modalities. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers card is required. Clinical and practical experience during Ultrasound Technology Training is essential. Ability to perform examinations of excellent technical quality, in an efficient manner. Must have an in depth knowledge of cross sectional anatomy. Knowledge of Ultrasound Instrumentation operation and quality control procedures is necessary. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Knowledge of departmental computer systems operations is essential. The ability to work as a team member with other sonographers, ability to speak with radiologists as a professional and compassion towards patients are essential skills.
