Providence is calling an Assistant Clinical RN Manager to the Resource Pool at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.

In collaboration with the management team, the Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager will focus on daily department operations: supervise personnel, coordinate activities of Nursing, and perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission of philosophy of the Providence Health System.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) variable, day shift position.

In this position you will:

* Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services.

* Use leadership principles to anticipate and influence change.

* Establish clear clinical practice expectations based on professional standards for areas of responsibility.

* Use independent judgment to direct and assign work to team members

* Support the implementation of organization policies and procedures in compliance with state, Federal and other regulatory guidelines to help ensure that high quality, cost-effective patient services meet or surpass accreditation standards.

* Assume responsibility for obtaining information and expanding job knowledge and competency that reflects current practice.

* Assist in the development, implementation and modification of programs and services needed to meet patient care and staff development needs.

Required qualifications for this position include:

* Nursing degree/diploma upon hire.

* Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) or higher required within three (3) years or 20 years of RN experience.

* Active Alaska State RN License.

* Two (2) years of recent experience as an RN in Medical-Surgical or Critical Care nursing

* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Life Support (ACLS) cards must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) -- (Healthcare Provider) upon hire.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

* Bachelor's degree in Nursing

* Certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN)

* Two (2) years of recent clinical supervisory experience or charge nurse experience in Med/Surg or critical care
