A printing company in the south suburbs is looking for an experienced Rewinder Operator with quality control experience.
This is a 2nd shift position; 2:00pm-12:30am Monday thru Thursday. Pay will start at $12/hour.
The main responsibilities will include inspecting materials printed on the printing presses, rewinding rolls to correct quantities, and slitting materials to blueprint specifications.
Duties will include the following:
- Tend machine that winds paper from one roll to another to form compact rolls of specified footage or diameter prior to cutting.
- Thread end of parent roll into machine and adjusts brake by hand to maintain tension of paper.
- Slide rewind cores on shafts and starts machine.
- Verify perforations, size, and alignment of rewind rolls.
- Adjust machine using a variety of hand tools
- Remove wound roll of paper from printing press
Requirements:
- 2+ years in the printing industry.
- 2+ years of quality control experience
- Prior experience operating a rewinder is preferred
- Good eye for detail
- Must comply with pre-employment background and drug screening
