Financial Counselor-Physician Clinic Office-FT-Day Shift - Full-time / Part-time

Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS) Financial Counselor schedules all Bariatric related surgical services and works with health insurance providers to determine coverage and benefit limits. Advises patients of procedure costs and alternative sources of funding. Assists in arranging referrals or second opinions when requested. Some post-secondary education is preferred. Must be able to read and write the equivalent of eighth grade English. Working knowledge of processes for all major insurance carriers, intermediaries, Medicare and Medicaid strongly preferred. Position requires efficient organization, follow-up and data entry skills. Excellent customer relations and oral/written communication skills are required.
