MECHANIC TECHNICIAN
The Mechanic Technician job requires skill working with mechanical motors, and knowledge of computer based electrical systems. Experience in amusement ride operation & repair is preferred, but not required. The Zoo provides a wonderful work environment, to the paid holidays, a competitive benefit package (medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 403b, critical illness and accident insurances, and short-term disability), and liberal paid time off. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Requirements include:
- Five (5) years of work experience in mechanical, electrical or pneumatic field
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Additional certification/ trade school education preferred.
- Mechanical motor repair and troubleshooting
- Computer based electrical systems
- Automotive and small engine technical skills
- Ability to prepare, service and repair motorized amusement rides.
- Knowledge and skills in hydraulics, and welding different materials.
- Ability to safely operate aerial work platforms (boom and scissor lifts)
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, and work outside in all types of weather
- Works week-ends, holidays, and overtime on regular basis; On call availability.
- Valid Indiana driver’s license, with driving record that is insurable by the Zoo’s insurer
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug test and criminal history, and driving record check.
