Essential Function 2: Meets the educational needs of co-workers and patient/family, utilizing principles of teaching and continuous learning.Job Knowledge/Critical Thinking:* Consistently provides teaching to patient/family by identifying learning styles, cognitive level, age and cultural background. Consistently looks at the comprehensive picture and modifies teaching on an individualized basis.* Consistently advances the nursing profession by sharing information with co-workers taking into consideration level of expertise, learning style and background.* Draws from a working knowledge base and other appropriate resources to achieve positive learning outcomes.Essential Function 2: Meets the educational needs of co-workers and patient/family, utilizing principles of teaching/and continuous learning.Productivity:* Consistently starts a comprehensive plan for teaching/learning experiences for patient/family upon admission to optimize staff/patient time utilization.* Documents teaching and response from patients and families and follow-ups on learning needs.* Pro-actively plans for teaching/continuous learning experiences for co-workers to optimize staff growth and patient outcomes.Essential Function 2: Meets the educational needs of co-workers and patient/family, utilizing principles of teaching and continuous learning.Evidence-Based Practice/ Research:Must meet at least 1 of the following for the advancement of nursing:* Submit an article for publication (could be local Nursing Newsletter)..* Develop a poster board presentation reflecting Evidence-Based Practice/research project.* Conduct a formal research project within established timeline (May utilize class research projects when taking classes to further education)* Actively participates as a principal or sub-investigator in Mercy Hospital Springfield Nursing Evidence-Based Practice/Research Essential Function 2: Meets the educational needs of co-workers and patient/family, utilizing principles of teaching and continuous learning.Leadership:Provides documentation of at least 2 of the following for the advancement of nursing:* Scores average of 75 or more points on preceptor evaluations by preceptees (newly hired nurses for the hospital).* Attains 100% of two or more identified personal/professional goals.* Acquires and/or maintains Ceritfication in specialty area.* Attends seminars/workshops necessary to maintain/obtain certification.* CPR/ACLS/PALS/NALS/TNCC, etc. instructor. (directed by unit manager according to needs).* Serves as Lead Super User and attends >90% of meetings annually. (directed by unit manager according to needs).* Attains or has a Master's degree.Essential Function 3: Orchestration of nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient centered goals.Job Knowledge:* Consistently orchestrates with staff and families as a means of developing trustworthy relationships through active patient engagement.* Orchestrates tasks with staff members fairly and with respect accepting feedback from them. * Uses orchestration of care as a means of developing the right relationships with interdisciplinary team members.Essential Function 3: Orchestration of nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient centered goals.Productivity:* Uses orchestration of patient care that best utilizes time and resources. * Consistently takes responsibility to ensure the delivery of holistic patient/family care using interdisciplinary approach.* Vigilantly responds to patient requests consistently in a timely manner and appropriately coordinates responsibility and patient requests with other staff.Essential Function 3: Orchestration of nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient centered goals.Critical Thinking:* Utilizes trustworthy coordination of care as a means of improving patient outcomes while promoting a culture of patient safety provided at the unit level. * Involves interdisciplinary staff in the patient centered goals.* Readily accepts professional accountability to resolve issues related to patient care or operational issues* Utilizes Mercy Hand-off process.Essential Function 3: Orchestration of nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient centered goals.Leadership:Must meet the following for continuous learning:* Attends and actively participates 2/3 of staff meetings and reads 100% of staff meeting minutes.Must meet at least 1 of the following:* Chairs or co-chairs a committee or council.* Organize or assist in organizing a project that could implement a change in something you feel strongly about.* Present education to staff after completion of seminar/workshop/conference.Patient Safety:13.1 Provides patient care according to established National Patient Safety Goals.13.2 Wears proper Personal Protective Equipment when appropriate.13.3 Observes Standard Precautions consistently.13.4 Complies with Hand Hygiene Policy.13.5 Completes appropriate reports regarding patient incidents13.6 Implements and documents fall precautions according to Fall Risk Assessment/Fall Prevention Policy13.7 Utilizes patient lift/transfer equipment appropriately and safely.Unit-Based Dashboard Achievement:14.1 Contributes toward achievement of Unit-Based Dashboard goals.General Performance:15.1 Is responsive to staffing needs.15.2 Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent with dress code, and attends to personal hygiene to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance.15.3 Meets Health System attendance and punctuality standards.

Position Qualifications:

* We require a nursing degree from an accredited school.

* You'll also need a current RN license in our state.

* Basic life support training should be completed in 90 days with advanced training required at certain intervals.
