The position of bartender must interact with guests to ensure they have a great experience. This position is responsible for ensuring pleasurable guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and service staff in a friendly and efficient manner.

The bartender must be able to offer help with any general restaurant questions as well as menu food and beverage questions. It is the bartenders responsibility to accurately handle all cash and charge transactions. It is also the bartenders responsibility to perform all bar sidework and keep the bar area clean, stocked and organized.

Finally, as a bartender it is a critical responsibility to give others encouragement daily and actively work to uphold all Bacchus values, ultimately taking measures to do whatever it takes to ensure our guests satisfaction and to make a concerted effort towards the happiness of every person.

This is a non-exempt position. The position of bartender reports to restaurant management and the General Manager.

Requirements

Job Requirements
* Assumes responsibility for the quality of guests' experience.
* Maintains a guest focus while performing duties.
* Take orders from guests and beverage orders from servers.
* Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with standard drink recipes.
* Learn the names and personally recognize our regulars.
* Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
* Practice accurate cash handling procedures. Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make correct change.
* Prepare garnishes for drinks for bar patrons.
* Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
* Clear and reset tables in bar area.
* Present drink menus, make specific recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.
* Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
* Wash and sterilize glassware
* Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar.
* Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to bar supervisor.
* Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
* Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
* Make sure every customer leaves happier than they arrived.
