We are growing Optometry Group servicing residents of Nursing Homes located throughout Northern Illinois. We are seeking a hardworking, motivated, friendly, and detail oriented individual to assist our Doctors, and assist with quality control as an Optometry Assistant. This candidate will also be a liaison between the staff of each Nursing Home and our corporate office. Optometric Assistants are allied health professionals who assist Optometrists in providing their highest level of vision care to patients and extend the optometrist's capabilities by assuming routine and technical aspects of vision care services. This job requires you to have a reliable car, and involves extensive driving as you will need to drive to different Nursing Homes each day to meet the Doctor. Alternatively, you will be visiting a Nursing Home to conduct quality assurance service visit. We want this candidate to strive to give our patients a great experience and always be patient, kind and considerate. Experience preferred, but we will gladly train the right person.

Responsibilities 

? Manage priority patient scheduling from the recall list
? Handle a high level of Nursing Home staff and patient's questions and needs, using a professional tone, patience, and exceptional judgment (direct medical questions to the Doctor)
? Complete data entry efficiently and promptly in our EHR system
? Ability to multi-task, moving effortlessly from one assignment to another
? Scan or fax needed documents to our corporate office
? Driving to multiple Home Nursing Homes daily ( some home are less than an hour and others are more).
?Delivering and repairing glasses 
?Liaison between Nursing Home contacts and our staff 
?Ability to obtain Physician orders and Authorization form from our Nursing Home contact or nurses

Requirements 
? Entry level will train 
? Successful candidates will have previous experience in a customer service environment 
? Motivation and drive to meet and/or exceed goals
? Professional, friendly and outgoing demeanor, remaining calm and flexible as situations arise
?Patience and sociable candidate must interact with Elderly patients and Physically or Mentally disabled patients

? Ability to prioritize and multitask while working in a fast-paced environment
? Well-developed organizational and computer skills (previous experience in EHR a plus)
Desirable experience
?At least one year in the health field specifically in a Nursing Home environment
?Previously employed with an Eye Care provider
