Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Senior Annual Giving Officer works closely with the Regional Vice President to design and execute a comprehensive development strategy for corporate sponsorships and annual giving society's prospects for the Mercy Health Foundation. This position may coordinate all Foundation sponsored events focused on cultivation and fundraising and additionally be responsible for oversight and planning of Foundation sponsored events. This individual will work with Mercy physicians, individuals, corporations and other friends of Mercy as part of the corporate relations and annual giving society programs. This position performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Responsibility Overview:

* Cultivates, solicits and stewards corporate sponsorships and annual giving societies.

* Works with Mercy physicians in support of the hospital through annual giving programs.

* Supports and works with Regional Vice President/Vice President and other Mercy Health Foundation committees.

* Strategically manages, executes and grows corporate and annual giving

* Manages a portfolio of prospects with potential for annual and corporate giving.

* Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors who can give $1,000 - $25,000 annually.

* Effectively manage prospective donor portfolio of 200-300+ prospects. Manages all aspects of organizing annual giving fundraising events such as volunteer recruitment, overseeing committees, event planning, donor solicitation and follow-up activities.

* Coordinates and develops the production of reports and agendas, meeting arrangements, and correspondence pertaining to events and annual giving preparation.

* Develops and maintains budgets and monitors income and expenditures for sponsorships and annual giving programs.

* Organizes and develops realistic timetables.

* Ensures appropriate information is entered into Raiser's Edge. Responsible for developing and growing third-party events.

* Special projects tied to fundraising efforts and capital campaign.

* Responsible for executing the stewardship strategy for corporate and annual giving and donors to inspire increased giving levels and retain current donors.

* Maintains records of campaign-related cultivation strategies, evaluations, solicitations, contact reports, and results of all contacts with prospects.

* Works collaboratively with Foundation team in producing all proposals, supporting documentation and correspondence.

* All other duties as assigned.

Key Selection Criteria:

* Bachelor's degree.

* Minimum of three to five years of experience working with nonprofits and corporations

* Demonstrable knowledge of the principles and best practices associated with fundraising.

* Possesses strong analytical skills.

* Strategic approach to problem solving.

* Ability to lead teams, direct volunteers and work within budgets to achieve desired outcomes

* Strategic approach to problem solving.

Preferences:

* CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive).

* Demonstrate experience in effectively working with all levels of leadershp and staff

* Experience in working with corporations. Nonprofit experience preferred.

* Outgoing, personable, professional appearance.

* Knowledge of regional corporations.

* Experience securing philanthropic support for a hospital or health system.
